Arborfield is a town in east-central Saskatchewan, on Highway 23 about 70 kilometres north-east of Melfort and a short distance west of the Pasquia Hills. Its name has a tidy story behind it. In 1910 the community asked for the name Fairfield, but the post office in Ottawa turned it down. Since the request had arrived on Arbour Day, the Post Office asked whether residents would accept Arborfield instead, and they did. It may also have been named for Arborfield, England, the site of an engineering museum.
